This facility of Canara Bank has been made available on the popular ‘Canara AI1’ banking super app of the bank. Canara Bank is the first public sector bank to launch this facility in collaboration with NPCI.
Canara Bank customers will now be able to make UPI payments at merchants using their RuPay credit cards as well as their bank accounts. Customers can link their Canara Bank Rupay Credit Card with their UPI ID. The bank says that through this secure digital payment system, it will be very easy for customers to do credit card transactions.
On this special new facility, MD and CEO of Canara Bank K. Satyanarayana Raju said that the process of linking the credit card is similar to the existing account linking process, and customers can select the Canara Bank credit card during account listing for linking. The transaction limits applicable for UPI transactions will continue for UPI payments using RuPay Credit Cards.
The bank also said that this facility will further enhance digital payments and expand UPI based technology. The MD & CEO of NPCI says that the integration of RuPay Credit Card on UPI is to enhance the convenience of UPI for customers along with the benefits of RuPay Credit Card.
