The agreement also stipulates that more powerful electric stations for trucks and buses will be installed every 120 kilometers by 2028, but so far only on half of the main highways. Three years later, hydrogen filling stations should appear every 200 kilometers.

Exceptions for the deployment of the electric charging network will apply for remote areas, islands and low traffic roads.

According to MEP Ismail Ertrug, at present, the development of the network of electric filling stations in the European Union lags far behind the pace of expansion of the electric vehicle fleet. Since 2016, the number of electric vehicles on EU roads has increased 17 times, while the number of filling stations has increased only six times over the same period.
