The government can bring such a facility, which will eliminate the need for toll plazas. To get rid of such problems, the central government is planning to start a new toll collection system. The government is soon planning to implement a new GPS-based toll system called ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Reader) cameras for toll collection.
How will this GPS based system work?
This ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Reader) system will read the license plate of the vehicle, after which the toll tax will be deducted from the vehicle owner’s bank account. This system will depend on cameras installed at entry and exit points. These cameras will click the photo of the license plate and deduct toll tax through toll from the vehicle number. This new ANPR system can prove to be a better option instead of Fastag.
According to a report by the Transport Corporation of India and IIM Calcutta, about Rs 1 lakh crore is wasted due to parking of vehicles at toll plazas and oil worth about Rs 45 thousand is wasted every year due to jams at toll plazas. There is a loss of crores of rupees, that is, due to toll nakas overall, the country suffers a loss of 1 lakh 45 thousand crore rupees. In such a situation, GPS system is going to start soon to save your pocket and the economic loss of the country.
Vehicle number plate can also change
The government may soon make a big change in the number plates of vehicles. Now the new number plate will have GPS along with the vehicle number. Recently, the Union Transport Ministry has ordered the installation of GPS number plates in new vehicles. Along with this, new number plates will have to be installed in old vehicles as well.
New GPS will also be installed in these new number plates. Along with this, a software will be installed at the toll plaza, due to which toll tax money will be deducted from your account as soon as the vehicle leaves. Now the number plate in your vehicles will not be normal but it will have a GPS system. The Union Transport Ministry has ordered the installation of GPS number plates in new vehicles.
On the other hand, in old vehicles, the old number plate will have to be removed and a new number plate will be installed. It will have a GPS system on the number plate. Along with this, a software will be installed, due to which the toll will be deducted automatically on reaching the toll plaza.
