“Forever Alive”: the Tver Drama Theater will show a play written in 1943

The story of an eyewitness was recorded by playwright Viktor Rozov on leave after being injured and later filmed under the title “Cranes fly”.
On February 23-24, Victor Rozov’s drama Eternally Alive (16+) returns to the big stage of the Tver Academic Drama Theater with an updated cast, led by chief director Alexander Pavlishin. For the first time the theater troupe performed a production in 2017 – it was presented to the public more than 15 times, the performance was watched by more than 6,000 spectators.
The play “Forever Alive” was written by Viktor Rozov in 1943 during the Great Patriotic War, where he went as a volunteer. The eyewitness story was recorded by the playwright on leave after being injured and later filmed as The Cranes Are Flying.


“Eternally alive” are not only those who died in the Great Patriotic War, but also those who awaited them. They “live” as long as we remember their exploit. The themes of human passions and feelings, of choice, of patriotism remain “eternally alive”. And today, more than ever, it is important to remember this, ”notes Alexander Pavlyshyn, chief director of the theater.
Honored Artist of Russia Andrei Zhuravlev, People’s Artist of Russia Irina Andrianova, actors Daria Ostashevskaya, Alexei Maisky, Pavel Petrov, Nikita Bakhmetiev, Yana Golubeva, Daria Plavinskaya will be involved in the performance.

The performance was created with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Tver region and participates in the Pushkin Map project.
