Canceled flights: The airline GoFirst has filed for bankruptcy. The company is facing a huge cash flow crisis. In such a situation, the company has informed on the website that GoFirst flights will be canceled on 3, 4 and 5 May. If you have booked tickets for these flights, then here we are telling you how to get a refund of the money spent on the ticket or whether the date of the ticket can be rescheduled or transferred.

According to the airline, passengers who have booked flights on these dates will get a full refund. And soon refund will be done in original mode paid. The airline announced on its website, "We recognize that flight cancellations may disrupt your travel plans and are committed to providing all possible assistance."

According to the airline, customers who have booked through online travel aggregators will also get refund in the source account. However, in case the refund is not issued, the customer may also approach the online travel aggregator for further details.

Can I reschedule or transfer GoFirst tickets?

The airline has said that it will not be able to reschedule/transfer tickets. The company said that as the seats are booked, the tickets cannot be rescheduled for any future date.

The reason for GoFirst’s bankruptcy

Go First blamed Pratt & Whitney engines for the grounding of nearly half its fleet. In its bankruptcy filing, GoFirst stated that it was forced to take the step due to an ever-increasing number of failed engines supplied by Pratt & Whitney’s International Aero Engines, leaving GoFirst with 25 aircraft as of May 1, 2023 (( Nearly 100,000 A320neo aircraft) (equivalent to 50% of the fleet) were grounded. The percentage of aircraft grounded due to a faulty engine increased from 7% in December 2019 to 31% in December 2020 to 50% in December 2022.
