In celebration of International Autism Awareness Day, Qatar organized a forum entitled “Let’s Unite for Them” at Zainab Bint Jahsh Kindergarten for Girls. The forum targeted various segments of society, including special education employees, teachers, employees of special education support services, and parents. The forum was managed by the school principal, Dalal Al-Athba, organized by the Deputy Director for Kindergarten Affairs, Nawir Al-Qahtani, and the Department of Special Education at Zainab Bint Jahsh School and Kindergarten for Girls, under the supervision of coordinator Walaa Al-Nahhas. A group of experts and consultants, including Ms. Fatima Al-Nuaimi, owner of the Early Intervention Nursery, Ms. Azza Baghdadi, a mother of an autistic child, and Ms. Zainab Khashan, an educational and family advisor, spoke at the forum.

The forum focused on supporters in Qatar and the services provided by special centers for children with autism, such as the Qatar Center for Speech and Communication, Hand in Hand Center, Amal Center for People with Special Needs, Mada Center, Early Intervention Nursery, Qatar People’s Platform, and Awareness Club for special education students at the University of Qatar. The aim of the forum was to highlight the integration of children with autism in various fields of life, especially in the education sector.

School principal Dalal Al-Athba stated that the forum aimed to increase awareness and understanding of autism within the community. By bringing together experts, consultants, and individuals from different segments of society, the forum provided a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences. It also highlighted the various resources available in Qatar to support children with autism and their families. The forum is a step forward in promoting inclusivity and support for children with autism in Qatar.
