From the side of the Kyrgyz Republic, the document was signed by Minister of Education and Science Kanybek Imanaliev, from the side of the Russian Federation – by Deputy Minister of Education Denis Gribov.
– We are creating a solid regulatory and legal basis for the further start of this project this year, – commented the head of the cabinet of ministers of the republic Akylbek Zhaparov. – This is a truly historic event, and it is a great pleasure for me to witness and participate in it. I am sure that schools will become a second home for young citizens of the republic, who will receive quality education and create additional favorable conditions for learning and popularizing the Russian language in the country.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk, in turn, called the construction of schools a project that symbolizes the closeness of the peoples of Russia and Kyrgyzstan. “The first educational institutions will open their doors to children as early as 2025,” he said.

Denis Gribov, Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation, spoke about what joint schools will be like. “These are large educational complexes equipped with modern equipment. Each educational institution has 68 classrooms for conducting lessons. Teachers from Russia and Kyrgyzstan will teach. The basis of the educational process will be the standard of the Federation of Russia, which will be completed taking into account the peculiarities of national and cultural components, mother tongue, literature and history,” he explained.

Earlier, Igor Maslov, head of the department of interregional and cultural relations with foreign countries of the Russian presidential administration, said that about 500 million dollars will be allocated from the Russian budget in the form of a subsidy for the construction of schools in the republic.
In total, following the results of the 24th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, seven documents were signed. Among them are agreements between the Ministries of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation on the provision of free technical assistance to Kyrgyzstan to support the established tax administration and scientific and methodological support and technical assistance in the field of public financial management, as well as as a memorandum of understanding and cooperation between the Land Resources Service of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Federal Service for Registration, Cadastre and Cartography (Rosreestr).

Direct speech

Denis Gribov, Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation:

  • The Russian language as a language of interethnic communication is the main tool for mutual understanding. The children who will study in our schools, in addition to basic and academic knowledge, will receive a broad understanding of the culture of our peoples and the value orientations of our countries. Years later, when these schoolchildren grow up, they will develop economic, humanitarian and political cooperation between Russia and Kyrgyzstan.
