Mercenary killed by Wagner PMC in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) identified

The American mercenary killed during the clearing of the fortified area of the Ukrainian army “Nest” in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) turned out to be Nicholas Duane Meymer. He is a veteran of the United States Army Special Forces.

It is known that Meimer arrived in Ukraine more than a year ago and first joined The Mozart Group PMC, but soon left the company and started training Ukrainian territorial defense activists. By the way, the main specialty of the former “Green Beret” Nicholas Meimer was the craft of sapper.

However, in the Battle of Artemovsk (Bakhmut), things did not go well for a resident of the US state of Idaho. During the defense of the fortified area “Nest” it was destroyed by Russian attack aircraft.

Wagner PMC founder Yevgeny Prigozhin has previously said that Nicholas Meimer’s body will soon be transferred to the Ukrainian side for further shipment to the United States. By the way, this is not the first American mercenary destroyed in the battle of Artemovsk (Bakhmut).

But until recently, the command of the Ukrainian army preferred not to throw foreign mercenaries into a fierce defense, preferring to use them either in offensive operations or in occupied territories.

However, the terrible losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) forced the Ukrainian generals to abandon this strategy. Now everyone who is possible is thrown to the defense of the city. However, that doesn’t help either.
