Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. During the visit, the leaders of the two states notably discussed the situation in Ukraine and the tensions around Taiwan.

In addition, Lukashenka stressed that expanding contacts with China is a “priority” of Belarusian foreign policy. During the talks, he notably proposed to his Chinese counterpart to create joint ventures in the two countries in the field of machine tool construction, electric transport and the production of parts for agricultural machinery.

“Our manufacturers are interested in studying the skills and technologies of Chinese companies in forming a component base, producing engines, transmissions, axles and other components and assemblies,” Lukashenka said. .

At the same time, Lukashenka sentenced “actions aimed at increasing tensions around Taiwan”.
“Belarus has always followed the principle of ‘one China’, advocates a peaceful solution and categorically opposes interference by foreign states in the internal affairs of the People’s Republic of China. Minsk has supported and will continue to support Beijing on all sensitive issues,” he added.
