Twitter Blue Tick: Twitter has removed the blue ticks of all legacy accounts from 12 midnight on 20 April.

After this, blue ticks of celebrities like Yogi Adityanath, Arvind Kejriwal, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, Donald Trump, Pope Francis, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry have also been removed. These accounts have got blue tick without paid service of Twitter. Now everyone has to take paid service for blue tick.

Twitter announced last month

Twitter announced last month that accounts that are verified under its legacy verification system and haven’t yet taken out the $8 per month Twitter Blue subscription will remove the blue tick from their account.

Elon Musk started a paid service for Blue Tick subscriptions in December 2022 after buying Twitter. 4 lakh 20 thousand accounts were verified under Twitter’s legacy verified account.

650 will have to be paid for blue subscription

Twitter Blue subscription for web in India is priced at Rs 650 per month, while mobile users will have to pay Rs 900 per month for it. Similarly, Twitter has started the Verified for Organization program for brands and companies, under which companies will have to spend $ 1000 every month for a gold checkmark.

For this service of Twitter, companies in India will have to spend Rs 82,300. Whereas, companies will have to pay $50 per month or Rs 4120 per month for verification of their linked accounts.

Accounts of government institutions and officials will be verified free of cost

Twitter is only verifying accounts of government organizations and its officials for free. For this he will get a gray checkmark. However, till the time of writing this news, the accounts of Ministry of Electronics and IT, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, PIB Fact Check and Chief Ministers of many states are not verified.
