Mexico said it received the first shipment of Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccines on Wednesday, the day before the planned start of immunization in the country hit by the pandemic.

The doses produced by US pharmaceutical giant Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech arrived by courier plane to Mexico City, Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard said on Twitter, AFP reports .

The first vaccines will be targeted at frontline medical personnel and introduced in the capital and northern state of Coahuila due to logistics associated with the required cold temperatures.

Ebrard said Tuesday that the first shipment of 1.4 million doses will arrive from Belgium, out of the 34.4 million that Pfizer has agreed to deliver.

Mexico has reported 119,495 Covid-19-related deaths and about 1.34 million infections, according to official figures.

It ranks fourth in the world in mortality after the United States, Brazil, and India.

Earlier it was reported that Pfizer and BioNTech will supply an additional 100 million doses of coronavirus vaccine to the United States.

Earlier a detailed investigative report “Vaccine Leak “  was published by The Eastern Herald. The Vaccine Leak exposed the Pharma Mafia and their profit from different COVID-19 vaccines. Many politicians may also be involved in this conspiracy.
