Belarus lawmakers vote to end agreements with France and Poland in humanitarian areas

The upper house of the Belarusian parliament voted to terminate an intergovernmental agreement with France on cooperation in the fields of culture, education, science and technology and media, state media reported.
Another report said lawmakers also voted to withdraw from a 2016 agreement with neighboring Poland on education cooperation.
France, Poland and other Western countries imposed sanctions on Belarus in connection with the 2020 presidential election and the subsequent crackdown on civil society.
Belarus was further isolated after Minsk allowed Russian troops to stage an invasion of Ukraine from Belarus.
