The Vladimir City Prosecutor’s Office filed a complaint with the Leninsky District Court asking to restrict access to YouTube on the territory of the Russian Federation. This follows from the case map on to place to research.
According to the filing, the lawsuit was filed with the Leninsky court on February 7, 2023. The Vladimir City Prosecutor’s Office is listed as the plaintiff and the Federal Service for Supervision in the Field of Communications, Information Technology and mass communications represented by the Roskomnadzor Office for the Vladimir region is listed as a defendant. Judge Ryzhova Anna Mikhailovna is expected to consider the request. A court hearing has been set for March 2, 2023.
Earlier, Vladimir’s military prosecutor’s office filed a complaint with the city’s Leninsky court to block the United Nations (UN) website in Russia. On January 27, the court dismissed the case due to the fact that the prosecutor’s office dropped its request.
January 18, 2023 businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin declaredthat YouTube video hosting will soon be blocked in Russia. The next day, the head of the Ministry of Digital Development Maksut Shedaev confirmed the department’s position, which is that the blocking of YouTube in Russia is not planned.
