An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale struck the Nicobar Islands, southeastern India.
According to a statement issued by the National Center of Seismology in India, today, that the earthquake occurred 270 km from the Campbell Bay area, and at a depth of 10 km. No reports have been received so far of human or material damage as a result of the earthquake. On December 5, a 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck the Bay of Bengal, at a depth of 10 kilometers. It is worth noting that, in recent decades, the Indian subcontinent has suffered some of the most violent earthquakes in the world.
