Manila International Container Terminal (MICT), which operates the Manila cargo port, announced that it is constructing Berth 8, which can accommodate large container ships. It can handle 18,000 TEU containers. Two of the four container cranes to be installed are scheduled to be delivered by 2025. Once berth 8 is put into operation, the cargo handling capacity of Manila Port will increase to 200,000 TEU per day.
