Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Russian tanker delivers oil to West Africa for first time in four years

The first batch of Russian oil has been delivered to West Africa for the first time in four years. It is reported by Bloomberg. According to the publication, the ship is currently waiting to be unloaded off the coast of Ghana.

According to Bloomberg, a ship carrying 600,000 barrels of oil left Novorossiysk in January and arrived in Ghanaian waters on February 24. Russian raw materials are expected to go to the refinery in the city of Tema, located 24 km from Ghana’s capital, Accra.

Moreover, according to the agency, a week ago a tanker with 40,000 tons of Russian diesel fuel also arrived in Tema from Primorsk in the Baltic. It is pointed out that Ghana is not a major oil exporter. Analysts say the country only ships 40,000 barrels a day. But this state borders Nigeria and Angola, which are the largest suppliers of raw materials to countries on the African continent.

Recall that reports of massive purchases of Russian oil by African states began to arrive at the end of February this year. It is stated that Russian petroleum products are needed by African countries to then be resold to Europe.

According to some sources, there are currently 87 ships in the ocean carrying Russian petroleum products.
