Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Bali governor intends to cancel visa-on-arrival regime for Russians and Ukrainians

Bali Governor Wayan Koster has proposed to cancel the issuance of visas on arrival for Russian and Ukrainian citizens, reports The Jakarta Post.

“I wrote a letter to the ministries (of foreign affairs, as well as of legislation and human rights – editor’s note) with a request for the cancellation of the visa regime for Russians and Ukrainians”, reports the politician.

Koster justified his decision by the growing reports of the travelers’ criminal actions. As well as data on the abuse of tourist visas among citizens trying to find work on the island.

Earlier, it was reported that the Bali Tourism Board would launch an awareness campaign urging foreign visitors to respect local cultural practices.
