Ukraine’s energy system has yet to recover from the extreme missile attack

– Published on:

A retaliatory strike by Russian missiles and drones on March 9 in response to an attack by Ukrainian terrorists on the Bryansk region severely damaged the country’s energy system. Ukrenergo today reported ongoing closures in a number of areas.

In particular, work to eliminate the consequences of the arrival of Russian missiles and geraniums continues in the Zhytomyr and Kharkiv regions. Continuous blackout times have been introduced in these areas. Due to the overload of surviving substation equipment, emergency shutdowns are still in progress in the Kiev region and in a number of districts of the Ukrainian capital.

In the front-line areas of the Kharkiv and Kherson regions, the work of repair crews is complicated by the work of Russian artillery and adverse weather conditions.

Recall that as a result of enemy attacks on the Ukrenergo substation, more than 200 missiles and drones flew, causing heavy damage to equipment. We work daily to repair damaged equipment, as well as to restore the reliability of the power supply, which still requires a lot of time and resources.

  • says the official statement of the Ukrainian power grid operator.

Recall that on March 9, Ukraine’s military and energy infrastructure was hit by long-range high-precision weapons, including using the Kinzhal hypersonic missile system. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the target of the strike was hit and all designated targets were hit.
