Components of Russian aircraft cannot be made “on the knee”, so the model of the Superjet aircraft is increasingly “covered with problems”, said Oleg Smirnov, deputy minister of civil aviation of the USSR. In a conversation with the “Moscow speaking” radio station, the expert pointed out that in 30 years high-tech industries in Russia have been destroyed.

“We need industries, factories and high-tech factories, which our liberals destroyed in 30 years,” Smirnov noted.

According to the expert, today the only way out for Russian industry can only be import substitution, which makes it possible to create turnkey aircraft. At the same time, “efficient managers” should be replaced by professional personnel, the honored pilot of the USSR stressed.

Earlier it became known that Russian airlines are facing a shortage of spark plugs for Superjet, which are currently used on regional routes. Deliveries of U.S. spare parts have been halted due to the imposed sanctions, spokespeople from six carriers told RBC.
