The Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs organized several advocacy programs and activities entitled “Welcome Ramadan”, which attracted nearly 700 speakers of both Urdu and Malay. The center also received a delegation from the University of Texas, and another delegation from a Malaysian organization operating In the field of value awareness, in addition to the program of visits to the Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque. During the past week, the center received 8 students from Texas A&M University, and they were briefed on the center’s programs and various facilities, starting with the heritage hall, then the civilized hall that reflects Islam, its culture and civilization, and they also got acquainted with the virtual reality exhibition, which is known as the system of rights that Islam added to human life. . On the other hand, the delegation of the Malaysian organization My Fundation Action visited the center, and the officials of the organization introduced the work of their organization in the field of introducing Islam and its culture, and their efforts in the field of spreading value awareness among young people, and training them in self-development, and they praised the efforts of the center in the field of introducing Islamic culture to the communities residing on the land of Qatar, and they also praised the diversity of programs and methods used by the center in this field. With regard to the activities related to the reception of the holy month, the center, through the Department of Islamic Culture, held two lectures for the Urdu-speaking community. The old, and attracted two hundred speakers of the Urdu language, while the second lecture was held in the center’s lecture hall, where it attracted three hundred speakers of the Urdu language. The center is preparing to launch a series of videos in eight languages about the names of God during the holy month of Ramadan. Similar videos have received high views in previous years on the center’s Facebook account. In addition, the center will hold a cultural competition in this field. The Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque was also visited by 280 people speaking English, Russian and Spanish, as the mosque is considered one of the most prominent landmarks that non-Arabs are keen to visit to learn about the local and Islamic architecture, and the importance of the mosque in life and society, while 116 new converts attended the weekly rehabilitation classes. It is located in the headquarters of the main center, and its two branches in Al-Sinaiyah and Al-Khor.
