Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

new director of the Pushkin Museum on the work in the FMS and the movement “Walking Together”

The new director of the State Museum of Fine Arts (GMII) them. AS. Pushkin (Pushkin Museum) Elizaveta Likhacheva confirmed that she really works in the Federal Migration Service (FMS) and is part of the team of the youth movement “Walking Together”. She spoke about it to RTVI in the program Chroniques du Nouveau Monde.

March 20 “Agency” reported that the new director of the Pushkin Museum in the early 2000s worked in the Interior Ministry and participated in the pro-Kremlin youth movement. According to leaked tax service databases, to which the publication refers, Likhacheva received a salary in the Walking Together movement, created by the future head of Rosmolodezh, Vasily Yakemenko. This youth organization, according to the Agency, carried out actions in favor of Vladimir Putin and against certain cultural figures, in particular the writer Vladimir Sorokin, whom they accused of promoting pornography and drugs. In 2005, Yakimenko Trump founded another pro-government youth movement, Nashi.

“I worked in the Federal Migration Service… The secret of my interest in the pro-Putin organization is very simple – they paid, they took the workbook and paid. It was not a fountain of what money, but it was ordinary money … ”, Likhacheva admitted.

According to her, before coming to the Museum of Architecture named after AV Shchusev, where she worked for 17 years, she had to work as a housekeeper, gas station operator, waitress, saleswoman, sales manager in fat.

“I took any job…I came to work for the Federal Migration Service by accident. My mother had a student … When I found myself again without work and it was clear that it was a person, in general, with money, she asked: “Have you you a job?” It turned out that he worked in the Federal Migration Service, in the Information Resources Office, and he offered me the position of his secretary, ”shared the director of the Pushkin Museum im. Pushkin.

At the FMS, she participated in the development of the concept of the Service’s website, which was launched, but after the decision to create a single portal for public services, “it became useless”. After that, Likhatcheva worked for the FMS as a “technical writer” in a team of people involved in the implementation of biometric passports, the first of which began to be issued in Russia in 2006.

Likhatcheva joined the Walking Together movement because then “it seemed to her that the state was finally trying to do something with young people.”

“I went there, I looked at all that… It was a student organization. You have to understand that was not the sentiment of some kind of pro-Putin organization,” she added.

According to her, Vasily Yakimenko suggested that she choose the direction of work. As a result, Likhacheva decided to “engage in anti-fascists.”

“Because the skinheads were quite a powerful group in the early 2000s in Russia: skins, fan groups… I think the FSB people who were involved in this can finally say a lot of interesting things, and in many ways respects the current problems, including with neighboring countries, are precisely connected with this movement: in Russia they were crushed, but not there, ”she says.

In Walking Together, as Likhacheva admits, she was mainly engaged in information gathering, and also communicated with veterans, among whom were participants in the blockade of Leningrad and prisoners of Auschwitz.
