100% inspection of transport provided on the Crimean Bridge

– Published on:

Minister of Transport of Russia Vitaly Savelyev reported President Vladimir Putin that all vehicles crossing the Crimean Bridge are inspected.

There are also four ferries that connect Crimea to the mainland daily. There are 8 parking lots waiting for the ferry.

The minister said that by the summer season, the number of personnel operating the transport through the Kerch Strait, including its security, will be increased.

The need for increased security of the Crimean Bridge was confirmed by a terrorist attack organized by the Ukrainian special services in 2022, when a truck exploded while crossing the bridge, killing 4 people, damaging the structure of the bridge and blocking traffic.

Since then, the bridge has been repaired and its security measures have been reinforced. All transports are inspected, and explosives, especially nitrogen fertilizers, are transported through the Kerch Strait only by ferries.
