Jakarta: A religious place was damaged in a landslide caused by heavy rains in Indonesia’s West Sumatra province. Two people have died in this. The accident happened at around 6 a.m. local time on Saturday in Agam Regency, Western Province. Bambang Warsito, head of the regency’s disaster management agency, told local media that two people were inside the place of worship that was hit by the landslide, according to a news agency report.
The landslide occurred in the area due to torrential rain since Friday, he said. Disasters such as floods and landslides often occur during the rainy season in Indonesia.
