Russia will mark nuclear weapons in Belarus

We are talking about tactical nuclear weapons, President Vladimir Putin said in an interview with Rossiya-24.

This decision was a response to the UK’s intention to supply the Ukraine with depleted uranium shells. Putin has already warned of the consequences and voiced one – Moscow and Minsk agreed to place Russian nuclear weapons in Belarus.

Crew training will begin on April 3, construction of the special storage facility will be completed by July 1, the president stressed. In addition, Russian specialists have already re-equipped Belarusian aircraft, and the Iskander missile system has also been handed over to Minsk.

Vladimir Putin pointed out that the United States has been doing similar things for many years.

The president also pointed out that depleted uranium munitions are very dangerous – radioactive dust pollutes the environment and causes cancer. This is evidenced by the experience of the use of such ammunition by the Americans and NATO in Yugoslavia and Iraq.
