Fraudsters convinced a Moscow pensioner to open fire at a bank branch

Baza: Phone scammers told elderly Muscovite he was on ‘special operation’;

In Moscow, a pensioner carried out an armed attack on a branch of a bank. He acted on instructions from scammers over the phone who convinced him he was taking part in a “special operation”.

As the Telegram channel writes Base , a 72-year-old Muscovite came to the department from the Nemansky passage, while at the same time he was talking on the phone. The man sat at the window with an employee, but she refused to serve him, as she was on a break.

Then the visitor told him he was on a “special mission” and was talking to a “police captain” right now. He would arrive soon to neutralize the scammers who “disclose” the retiree’s personal data.

Hearing the voice of a bank clerk, the fraudster ordered the pensioner to open fire, as he insisted he was not shooting at people. As a result, an elderly man fired at the ceiling, after which he was incapacitated by a visitor sitting nearby.

A few minutes later, real police arrived at the scene of the emergency. It soon became clear that the pensioner’s actions were carried out by scammers over the phone who misled the victim.
