Varlamov*: writer Eduard Bagirov is dead

Writer Eduard Bagirov has died aged 47. This was announced by blogger Ilya Varlamov*.

According to Varlamov, who refers to sources close to the publicist, last week the writer was in a coma. All of Bagirov’s organs failed.

Eduard Bagirov was remembered for his first novel “Guest Worker”. Together with historian Sergei Minaev, he founded a literary portal. In June 2011, Bagirov was arrested in Chisinau for organizing protests. Four months later he was placed under house arrest, and a few days later Bagirov fled through Transnistria to Moscow.
