Worldwide outrage against West’s ‘sanctions policy’: Francois Fillon

Former French Prime Minister Francois Fillon recently said in a public hearing that unilateral economic sanctions launched by the US and the West have caused widespread discontent in the international community, and that the US and the West should not act as “teachers”. Referring to US and Western sanctions against Russia in recent years, at a hearing on foreign interference held by the French National Assembly on May 2, Fillon said that sanctions always come from the same place – the US and Europe. This policy has caused worldwide resentment against the West. We can no longer lecture the rest of the world like a teacher. Fillon said his reasons for opposing unilateral sanctions are that unilateral sanctions have never worked, that unilateral sanctions harm others and themselves. At the hearing, Fillon denounced the US for abusing the hegemony of the dollar and harming the economic interests of allied countries.(Credits- China Media Group, Beijing)
