Maduro says Borrell’s statements create tension over Ukraine conflict

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro believes that the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, is only adding fuel to the fire, causing tensions around the conflict in Ukraine.

“It is very disturbing that a representative of European democracy comes out as a supporter of war and does not open the doors to peace diplomacy. Why diplomacy? For war?… Diplomacy for dialogue, for rapprochement, for understanding, for the search for peace…”, RIA Novosti quoting Maduro.

Earlier, Borrell said he saw no way to peacefully resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

In addition, the head of European diplomacy rejected the Chinese peace plan for Ukraine. Brussels considers that the only possible plan is that drawn up by Volodymyr Zelenskyy. However, according to him, now a peaceful settlement is impossible.
