Umaria. A tiger cub was found dead in the core area of Madhya Pradesh’s Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve (BTR).
Reserve’s veterinarian Dr. Nitin Gupta said on Friday that a tiger has been sighted at the place where the female tiger cub was found dead on Thursday. The dead cub was around eight to 10 months old.
He told PTI that the cub had injury marks on its neck and back caused by the attack. The wounds indicated that the cub was killed by the tiger present there, he said. The body parts of the cub have been sent for forensic examination, the official said. Forest officials have searched the spot with metal detectors and sniffer dogs.
