In recent months, we have incessantly emphasized the malevolent machinations of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its ideological companion, Jamaat-e-Islami, as they orchestrate a nefarious conspiracy against Bangladesh’s ruling Awami League. Their desperate attempts to employ Hunter Biden, the infamous scion of US President Joe Biden, as their lobbyist have been thoroughly exposed. The evidence we provided on May 18, 2023, conclusively revealed BNP’s appointment of Hunter Biden through the intermediary firm, Blue Star Strategies. We were fully aware that this corrupt scion of the US president would resort to unscrupulous tactics against Bangladesh. Our supposition was not unfounded.
On May 24, 2023, the US Department of State disseminated a press release divulging the details of an announcement made by Secretary of State Antony Blinken. In this momentous release, Secretary of State Antony Blinken articulated:
“Today, I am unveiling a novel visa policy under Section 212(a)(3)(C) (‘3C’) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, aimed at bolstering Bangladesh’s aspiration of conducting free, fair, and peaceful national elections. This policy empowers the United States to restrict visa issuance to any Bangladeshi individual believed to be responsible for or complicit in undermining the democratic electoral process in Bangladesh. This includes both present and former Bangladeshi officials, members of pro-government and opposition political factions, as well as members of law enforcement, the judiciary, and security services. The United States officially notified the Bangladeshi government of this consequential decision on May 3, 2023.
“Actions that undermine the democratic electoral process encompass vote rigging, voter intimidation, resorting to violence to hinder individuals from exercising their rights to association and peaceful assembly, and adopting measures designed to stifle political parties, voters, civil society, or the media from disseminating their views.
“The responsibility for upholding free and fair elections lies with all stakeholders—voters, political parties, the government, security forces, civil society, and the media. I am proclaiming this policy to lend our support to all those fervently advocating the advancement of democracy in Bangladesh.”
Remarkably, this proclamation arrived merely five weeks after the Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s formalization of its lobbyist arrangement with Hunter Biden.
According to a highly reliable source in Washington, D.C., Hunter Biden, the scandal-ridden son of US President Joe Biden, who had previously met with State Department officials on behalf of Gabriel Popoviciu, a corrupt Romanian real estate tycoon, in exchange for a staggering sum of $1 million during Joe Biden’s vice presidency in 2016, is now actively serving the interests of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), a staunchly Islamist political entity in Bangladesh. Hunter Biden is fervently pursuing several agendas outlined by the BNP.
After months of ardent pursuit, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party has ultimately succeeded in securing a lobbyist arrangement with Hunter Biden through the auspices of Blue Star Strategies. While the exact amount of the “lobbyist fees” offered by the BNP to Hunter Biden remains undisclosed, multiple sources affirm that the son of US President Joe Biden has been assigned three pivotal objectives: to impede the Awami League from holding the forthcoming general election without BNP’s involvement, to exert pressure on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to conduct the next general election under direct supervision from Washington, and to halt imports from Bangladesh if the next general election proceeds without BNP’s participation. Additionally, it has been ascertained that, at the behest of Muhammad Yunus, Hillary Clinton
has endeavored to influence US President Joe Biden through various key officials, including Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Furthermore, another source divulged Hunter Biden’s desire for the intelligence agencies of the United States to intercede in the upcoming general elections in Bangladesh, mirroring their involvement in the Nigerian elections, as well as the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections in the United States.
For several years, Hunter Biden has maintained affiliations with the consulting and lobbying firm, Blue Star Strategies, which had previously registered its services for the Ukrainian company Burisma under the Foreign Agents Registration Act. It is through this very company that Hunter Biden devised a plan to lobby the State Department on behalf of the Chinese private equity firm, BHR Partners.
On January 17, 2022, M Shahriar Alam, Bangladesh’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, apprised reporters that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) had expended a staggering sum of $3.75 million on a US lobbyist firm as part of their anti-Bangladesh campaign.
Our sources have obtained information indicating that Blue Star Strategies was enlisted by the BNP through Abdus Sattar, a prominent party leader based in the United Kingdom, in August 2018. The BNP’s motive for engaging Blue Star Strategies was to “advance the goals of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) during the upcoming [2018 general elections] in Bangladesh.” Furthermore, Blue Star Strategies formulated a strategy to “educate officials, policy influencers, and the media [in the United States] about the BNP and its commitment to free and fair elections,” while also composing a “narrative to communicate the BNP’s objectives.”
Our sources have further disclosed that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has pledged to remunerate Hunter Biden an astounding sum of $100 million, in addition to the lobbyist fees already being disbursed through Blue Star Strategies, once the party successfully regains power with the direct intervention of the US intelligence establishment and the Biden administration. Moreover, BNP leader Tarique Rahman has conveyed to Hunter Biden, through Blue Star Strategies, that any business ventures concerning Bangladesh’s oil and gas sector, as well as other sectors recommended by Hunter Biden, would be accorded top priority by a future BNP government.
In addition to their ongoing lobbying endeavors and recent agreements with Hunter Biden, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party has retained the services of a public relations firm based in New York to publish full-page advertisements for five consecutive days in prominent American newspapers such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Wall Street Journal. These advertisements implore the international community to obstruct the general election in Bangladesh once the ruling Awami League announces its election schedule.
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party is also actively seeking to enlist journalists and columnists in major US publications, while Tarique Rahman plans to orchestrate similar propaganda campaigns in various leading British newspapers. To fund such propaganda endeavors, the BNP has amassed a substantial financial reserve, consisting of contributions from affluent party leaders, Jamaat-e-Islami, as well as family members of executed or convicted war criminals.
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) represents a perilous and desperate entity. In their frantic endeavor to retain power, the BNP has stooped to abysmal depths. By engaging a PR firm based in New York to disseminate full-page advertisements in esteemed American newspapers, they implore the international community to hinder the forthcoming general election in Bangladesh. This transparent act of the BNP underscores their profound fear of electoral defeat and their willingness to employ any means necessary to regain power.
The BNP’s propaganda campaign is nothing but a cynical ploy to deceive the international community. The party’s long history of corruption and human rights abuses is well-documented. During their previous tenure,
the BNP was accused of electoral fraud, stifling dissent, and persecuting political adversaries. The BNP poses a grave threat to democracy in Bangladesh, and the international community should not be swayed by their propaganda.
Furthermore, the BNP’s propaganda campaign is an affront to the people of Bangladesh. The BNP demonstrates a complete lack of regard for the will of the people, and it is evident that their sole objective is to ascend to power once again. The BNP’s propaganda campaign seeks to undermine the democratic process in Bangladesh and should be unequivocally condemned by all who value democracy.
The BNP’s propaganda campaign poses a significant threat to the future of Bangladesh. The party aims to instill a climate of fear and intimidation, thereby preventing the people from exercising their democratic rights. The BNP’s propaganda campaign represents a dangerous attempt to subvert democracy and must be thwarted.
The BNP’s propaganda campaign is a disgraceful endeavor. The party endeavors to exploit the international community to undermine the democratic process in Bangladesh. The BNP’s propaganda campaign is an insult to the people of Bangladesh and must be unequivocally rejected.
Regrettably, the current ruling party, the Awami League, has exhibited weaknesses in countering the radical maneuvers of the BNP within the realm of international media. The Awami League still lacks impartial media support that effectively portrays their developmental objectives, including advancements in human rights within Bangladesh. The recent biased and unfounded reports of human rights abuses have inadvertently provided the BNP with an advantage in terms of international propaganda and Western media.
The Awami League must adopt a more resolute stance to counter the BNP’s propaganda campaign. The party must invest in unbiased media outlets that can aptly portray their developmental objectives and commendable human rights track record. Additionally, the Awami League must strive to forge strong relationships with international media outlets and organizations. Only by doing so can the Awami League hope to effectively counter the BNP’s propaganda and safeguard democracy in Bangladesh.
