If you have an account with Punjab National Bank, you can also take advantage of PNB’s IVR-based UPI system. Through this, you will be able to make payments without internet connectivity. Because Punjab National Bank had launched IVR based UPI system for making digital payments. This will give a lot of relief to the customers and there will be no problem of any kind.

In a significant move, Punjab National Bank (PNB) has become the first public sector bank to launch IVR-based UPI solution, which enables customers to make digital payments through feature phones. With the launch of UPI 123PAY, PNB aims to create a cardless and cashless society in line with its digital vision for 2025.

The UPI 123PAY IVR-based system enables feature phone customers to receive UPI payments even without internet access. Earlier UPI transactions were limited to smartphones or USSD platforms, which required internet connectivity. However, PNB now allows customers to make real time payments through UPI 123pay on any feature phone, thereby bridging the digital divide in areas with limited internet connectivity.

MD and CEO claimed

A significant portion of PNB’s customer base resides in rural and small towns and around 63 per cent of its branches are located in these areas adding to the importance of this initiative. The MD and CEO of Punjab National Bank claims that most people in these places still do a major part of their transactions in cash. With 63% of PNB branches serving rural and small town population, the introduction of UPI 123Pay has immense potential to transform the payment system in these regions.

To avail UPI 123Pay, customers need to dial the IVR number 9188-123-123 from their phones. After the prompt they can select the beneficiary and authenticate the transaction, enjoy the convenience with support for all languages. Most importantly, this initiative is not limited to PNB customers only.

UPI 123PAY extends its benefits to individuals without a smartphone or internet connectivity, providing a one-stop payment solution. The service is convenient across the country, empowering customers across the country to make hassle-free payments.
