Anna Babinets, editor-in-chief of the investigation agency “slіdstvo.info” was summoned for questioning by the National Police because of her request to the People’s Deputy from the Servant of the People
Alexander Dubinsky.
“Wow! Minister Avakov investigated all high-profile crimes and got to investigative journalists. Today I received a summons from the National Police to call for interrogation. For writing a request to MP Dubinsky in December about his connection with Giuliani. Then the people’s deputy did not answer, but got scared and went to Avakov. And the thing went – to the Main Investigative Department, “Babinets wrote on her Facebook page.
The journalist also notes that she is called by investigator Ilmira Cherednik, who a few months ago called the journalist as an investigator for the murder of Pavel Sheremet.
At the same time, according to the publication, the letter addressed to the agency stated that “during the pre-trial investigation there was a need for an investigative action – interrogation as a witness of the editor-in-chief of NGO slidstvo.info “Babinets Anna”, therefore asked to ensure her appearance at 10:00 on May 13 at the Main Investigation Department of the National Police.
The summons itself contains only the number of the criminal proceeding without details of what exactly it concerns. This is an offence under Part 2 of Art. 163 (Violation of the secrecy of correspondence, telephone conversations, telegraphic or other correspondence, which are transmitted by means of communication or through a computer) CC.
In another letter signed by the same investigator Ilmira Cherednik, there is a list of questions that the agency should answer. They relate to a request sent to Dubinsky in December 2019 regarding possible meetings with the defendants in the impeachment case of U.S. President Donald Trump. In particular, about possible contacts with Trump’s personal lawyer Rudolf Giuliani.
The agency notes that such requests were also sent to the Minister of the Interior Arsen Avakov and 12 other officials.
Recall that at the end of 2019, the lawyer Rudolf Giuliani, who was in Kiev, met with some Ukrainian politicians and officials – former and current. Among the meetings that Trump’s personal lawyer Giuliani held in Kiev was a meeting with deputies of the Verkhovna Rada Alexander Dubinsky and
Andrei Derkach .
