Corona virus: China does not report any new deaths for the first time

Beijing (TEH) – For the first time since the outbreak of the corona pandemic, China has reported no new casualties. For weeks now, according to official reports, there were hardly any new infections and only a few new deaths in the People’s Republic. On Tuesday, the statistics of the Beijing Health Commission did not list any new deaths for the first time since January Figures 32 “imported” infections that have been detected in people entering China.

In total, according to official data, 3,331 people in China have died as a result of the lung disease COVID-19 so far, 81740 have been shown to be infected. However, the actual figures are likely to be significantly higher, as the type of survey has changed again and again and many cases do not appear in the official statistics. As a sign that the situation has improved, more than two and a half months after the closure of the Chinese metropolis Wuhan the last restrictions on freedom of movement for the eleven million residents will be lifted.

In the severely affected metropolis, where the pandemic started in December, traffic will normalize from midnight local time (Tuesday 1800 CEST) and air traffic will resume on Wednesday. Cars can leave the city again and people can travel by train – provided they are healthy and have recently had no contact with infected people. The opening of the city is an important signal for China to have overcome the worst.
