Nutritionist Julia Zumpano explained which vitamins and foods can strengthen the body and save it from the disease.
We all know the old adage “one apple a day – the doctor from home outside” and how important it is to strengthen the body with vitamins to be healthy and drive away from the diseases around us. Nutritionist Julia Zumpano explained for the HealthClevlend Clinic portal which vitamins and foods can strengthen the body and save it from disease:
- Vitamin C is one of the biggest friends of the immune system. In fact, due to vitamin C deficiency, you may be more prone to disease. Foods rich in vitamin C are: broccoli, kale, orange, grapefruit, tangerines, strawberries, peppers, and spinach. Daily intake of vitamin C is very important because the body does not produce or store it. The good news is that vitamin C is found in a lot of foods and that most people do not need a supplement except if their doctor does not recommend it.
- Vitamin B6 is vital for the biochemical processes of the immune system. Foods rich in vitamin B6 include chicken and fish such as salmon and tuna. This vitamin is found in both green vegetables and chickpeas, which are the main ingredient in hummus.
- Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that helps the body fight infections. Foods rich in vitamin E are nuts, seeds, and spinach.
