Pakistani Ambassador to Ankara Muhammad Cyrus Sajjad Qazi, and his Turkish counterpart in Islamabad Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul, pledged to make more efforts to increase the volume of trade exchange between the two countries.

This came during their participation, on Thursday, in a program organized by the “Islamic Institute” based in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, through the “webinar” platform.

Sajjad Qazi expressed his happiness with the political and diplomatic relations between Ankara and Islamabad, which he described as “the best around the world .”

“Despite the great historical, political and cultural relations, the volume of trade exchange between the two countries, whose population exceeds 300 million, ranges between 600 and 800 million dollars.” added Sajjad.

He referred to the decision of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan , which he made during his recent visit to Pakistan, to adopt an unconventional approach in trade issues.

He pointed out that more than 100 Turkish companies operate in various fields in Pakistan, including food, services, infrastructure, and construction.

For his part, Yordakol stressed that the two countries enjoy very good political relations, adding, “However, there is a gap that must be filled in economic relations.”
