A new earthquake was felt in central Croatia at 10:29 p.m.

EMSC reports that it was magnitude 4.5 on the Richter scale and the picentar was 13 kilometers from Sisak, in the vicinity of Petrinja.

The Croatian Seismological Service reports on the same magnitude.

  • Tonight, January 9, 2021, at 10:29 pm, seismologists from the Seismological Service recorded a strong earthquake with an epicenter 15 km south-southwest of Sisak. The magnitude of the earthquake was 4.5 according to Richter, and the intensity at the epicenter of the VI degree of the EMS scale. The quake was felt in a wider area – said the Croatian Seismological Service.

The quake was shorter, but it felt shocks and swaying and was also felt in Zagreb.

According to readers, it was felt throughout Slavonia, even in Osijek.

The quake was also felt in northwestern BiH.

According to Serbian media, the earthquake was also felt in Belgrade. The earthquake was felt in Miljakovac and some other parts of Belgrade.

Earlier, an earthquake felt in Zagreb too. In the month of December 2020, an earthquake hit Croatia and a few casualties were also recorded. The 6.4-magnitude earthquake occurred 10 kilometers deep and was also felt in the Croatian capital, Zagreb, and other areas of Central Europe.
