Barcelona brings in Eric Garcia, the defender of Manchester City, already in the winter transfer window.
Garcia has refused to extend his contract with the English club and wants to return to Camp Nou, from which he left as a 16-year-old. Barcelona can bring him in in June without compensation, but the Catalan club wants to have Garcia at their disposal as early as January due to injury problems with their defensive players.
City asked Barcelona for 10 million euros plus 10 through bonuses, but in the end, he agreed to sell 19-year-old Garcia for five million and as many bonuses, because he would not get anything in a few months. Garcia agreed to a five-and-a-half-year contract with Barcelona.
Due to the financial crisis, Barcelona agreed with City to pay a fixed part of five million euros next year. The only thing left is for this transfer to be approved by Barcelona’s presidential candidates.
