The Arab kingdoms, from the Gulf to Morocco, and other countries, declared their support for Jordanian rule Sunday, hours after the emergence of a power struggle within the royal family.
Jordan maintains close relations with the leaders of the Gulf states, especially in -Arab Spring events, and often receives aid from them to overcome the economic difficulties it faces.
The kingdoms of the Gulf support strongly
The official Saudi Press Agency stated that Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had called King Abdullah II of Jordan. The agency said: “The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques affirmed to His Majesty during the call that the Kingdom stands and its full solidarity with the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Kingdom’s support for all measures taken by His Majesty to preserve Jordan’s security and maintain its stability.”

The Gulf Cooperation Council also stressed that it stands by Jordan.
For his part, Anwar Gargash, the advisor to the UAE president and former minister of state for foreign affairs, wrote in a tweet on Sunday that “brotherly Jordan’s stability is subject to Arab and international consensus.”

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, also made a phone call to the Jordanian monarch, “during which he expressed the support of the State of Qatar and its stand with the Kingdom of Jordan.”
In turn, the King of Morocco, Mohammed VI, who came to power in 1999 in the same year in which King Abdullah II assumed the throne of Jordan, expressed his “full and natural solidarity with Jordan,” affirming his “full support for all the decisions taken by the” Jordanian king “to establish security And stability. ”
Egypt, Iraq and Palestine show their solidarity
In Cairo, the spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, Basem Radhi, expressed in a statement Egypt’s “full solidarity and support for the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and its leaders” amid stressing that “the security and stability of brotherly Jordan is an integral part of Egyptian and Arab national security.”
As for the League of Arab States, its Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit said, “King Abdullah II has an appreciated and high position, whether among the Jordanian people or at the Arab level in general.”
In Israel, which borders Jordan, Defense Minister Benny Gantz said that the events fall within the “internal affairs of the kingdom … the neighbour and the strategic ally with whom (Israel) maintains peaceful relations.”
A Jordanian security source announced on Saturday evening, in statements reported by the Jordan News Agency, that “after close security follow-up, the Jordanian citizens, Sharif Hassan Bin Zaid, Basem Ibrahim Awad Allah, and others were arrested for security reasons.”
The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the Jordanian Army, Major General Yusef Al Huneiti, said in a statement that the half-brother of the Jordanian king, Prince Hamzah, “He was asked to halt actions being used to target” Jordan’s stability.
