On Sunday, an official Hebrew channel said that a Moroccan warplane had arrived at the Hatzor air base in southern Israel, to participate in military training.

And the Israeli channel “Kan” reported that a Moroccan plane, “Lockheed C-130 Hercules”, landed on Sunday morning, at the “Hatzor” base, without further details.

It was not possible to obtain immediate comment from the Moroccan authorities, regarding what was reported by the channel, until 13:30 (GMT).

The channel quoted an (unnamed) Israeli army spokesman as saying: “We are cooperating with a different group of foreign countries and armies while conducting exercises, high-level meetings, and joint research.”

However, the spokesman added, “We will not discuss cooperation with a specific country,” without details of the military training, even if Morocco is a participant in it.

In 2020, Morocco signed an agreement with Israel to resume relations between them, to join 3 other Arab countries that signed in the same year agreements to normalize relations with Tel Aviv, namely the UAE, Bahrain, and Sudan.

Out of 22 Arab countries, 6 have declared official relations with Israel, namely Egypt, Jordan, the UAE, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco.
