Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tarik, accompanied by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, visited Al Bayt Stadium, which will host the opening of the 2021 Arab Cup and 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

During the visit, the Emir of Qatar briefed the Sultan of Oman on models of all 2022 World Cup stadiums, and the equipment, training facilities, and areas designated for fans in all stadiums, in addition to the latest types of technology used for cooling.

They also listened to an explanation of the architectural and engineering features and characteristics of Al Bayt Stadium, in addition to an explanation of its capacity and the sports atmosphere it provides for players and fans.

On Monday, the Sultan of Oman concluded an official one-day visit to Doha.

The capital, Doha, witnessed a meeting between the Emir of Qatar and the Sultan of Oman, in which they discussed regional and international issues, strengthening bilateral relations and joint Gulf action.

The two sides signed joint cooperation agreements in the fields of mutual investments, tourism, and taxes, as well as military cooperation, as part of the Sultanate’s increasing efforts to diversify its economy.

This is the first visit of the Sultan of Oman to Doha and the second abroad since he took office at the beginning of the year 2020.

Last July, the Sultan of Oman made a visit to Saudi Arabia, which was his first foreign trip since assuming his position, succeeding the late Qaboos bin Said.

The Arab Cup will start in Qatar on November 30, with the participation of 16 Arab teams from the continents of Asia and Africa, and extends over 19 days.

It will also host the World Cup from November 21 to December 18, 2022, with the participation of 32 teams competing for 8 stadiums.
