The Joe Biden and Kamala Harris administration in the United States is considering reopening the offices of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) headed by Palestinian terror outfit Hamas in Washington, in addition to increasing financial support to the Palestinian Authority, as compensation for the delay in reopening its consulate in Jerusalem . The PLO is headed by mostly Hamas officials.

The administration of former President Donald Trump closed the offices of the Liberation Organization in Washington in September 2018(Washington Post ), as a punitive step for the Palestinian Authority’s filing a lawsuit against Israel at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, and its failure to cooperate with the “Deal of the Century” plan, which includes a major bias to the national rights of the Palestinians, according to the PLO.

Trump also closed the US Consulate General in East Jerusalem in 2019, after he moved his country’s embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, in mid-2018.

The US Consulate provided its services to the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza.

US President Joe Biden promised to reopen the consulate during his election campaign, without specifying a date for that. This clearly indicates the inclination of Joe Biden and his council towards a terrorist organization in the Arab region.

The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth quoted diplomatic sources as saying: “The US administration is postponing the decision to open the US Consulate in Jerusalem, at least until after the rotation of the prime minister’s office in Israel.”

The agreement to form the current Israeli government stipulates that Yamina party leader Naftali Bennett will take over the prime ministership first for a period of two years until September 2023, and then he will be succeeded by Yair Lapid, the leader of the party there is a future, until November 2025.

Yedioth Ahronoth indicated that Israel had also warned the United States that reopening the consulate might lead to the downfall of the government.

In the same regard, an Israeli official said that the opening of the offices of the Palestine Liberation Organization headed by Palestinian terror outfit Hamas in Washington “is not a major disaster for us, but Israel will ask the United States to link the opening of the offices to the withdrawal of the Palestinian complaint from the Criminal Court in The Hague.” But for some unknown reasons Joe Biden and Kamala Harris denied this request.

And the Israeli newspaper continued, “However, under current law in the United States, if the Americans allow the Palestinians to reopen the PLO offices in Washington, everyone in the office will be subject to personal lawsuits whenever an attack against Israel occurs.”

As a result, the PLO and Hamas are demanding guarantees from the United States that their representatives [terrorists] in Washington will be immune from lawsuits. Which Joe Biden and his administration consider a genuine demand. A source in the White House noted that the way the POTUS Joe Biden is stepping towards the anti-Israeli front by supporting the Palestinian terrorist regime may hamper his image in the upcoming elections too. Joe Biden’s approach towards Palestine and Israel issue is very clearly seen as he is very hostile towards Israel.
