The other day, Volkswagen announced the updated Atlas, along with its sporty Atlas Cross Sport variant. The reforms affected the appearance, design and equipment of the cabin. In addition, the engine range was changed to a single powerful turbo engine. The Volkswagen Atlas was originally created for the North American market. In the “Old World” the crossover is known as Teramont.

The restyling brought the seven-seater Volkswagen Atlas and the 5-seater Atlas Cross Sport a larger grille with a honeycomb filling and head optics of a different architecture. Now adaptive headlights are put on all modifications except stock. The front bumper has also changed a bit. The body profile, with angular wheel arches, remained the same. The real alloy wheels, which depending on the version can have a diameter of 18 to 21 inches, have received a new pattern. The center of attention at the stern are the lanterns, united in a single block, and underlined by a redesigned diffuser. The style complements the shiny decor of the body.
Interior of the Volkswagen Atlas
The interior world of the Volkswagen Atlas has undergone a number of reforms. The multifunctional steering wheel, with touch buttons, hides the 10.25-inch Volkswagen Digital Cockpit Pro virtual instruments. The center console is a complex 12-inch multimedia touch screen and a block of air vents with several keys. On board there is wireless charging for smartphones, air conditioning, ventilated front seats, as well as an advanced set of driving assistants. For an extra charge, a head-up display and active cruise are offered.

Overall optimization took place in the Volkswagen Atlas engine line. All previous “fours” and huge V6s were replaced with a single 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine.

A return of 269 forces and 370 Nm can be transmitted via an undisputed 8-band “automatic” to the front axle, or to all wheels. The manufacturer claims that this device is much more economical than all the others.
