Psychologist Minchenkov said figure skater Kostomarov will need a long rehabilitation

Russia

The condition of figure skater Roman Kostomarov still worries doctors. One thing is certain – the athlete will have a long rehabilitation. This was stated by a full member of the Professional Psychotherapeutic League, a body-oriented therapist Andrey Minchenkov.

“An unexpected change from a state of health to a state of ‘handicap’. That is, a few months ago a person did not imagine at all that he would be in such a state. Therefore, we can talk about the strongest shock injury, ”quotes the expert 5-tv.ru.

After the stress he experienced, Kostomarov will certainly have to work with a psychologist who will help him in the treatment of postoperative depression. However, before accepting his current state, the athlete still has a long way to go.

According to Minchenkov, the skater will need social rehabilitation. Modern dentures can help with this. However, one should not forget about the key psychological factor – a person after an injury should feel necessary to loved ones and society.

According to the publication, Kostomarov is currently still poorly perceived by what is happening to him in the hospital. Probably, medications and previous surgeries had an impact.

Two months ago, the skater was hospitalized in Kommunarka with bilateral pneumonia. For a long time he was in an artificial coma and on a ventilator. Due to circulatory problems and the threat of gangrene, Kostomarov’s foot was amputated from the left leg, as well as from the heel and toes of the right foot, and later from the hands of both hands.
