Russian Army Sergeant Alexander Maltsev, 42, approached the Ukrainian trenches and quietly penetrated the flank of the militants. The fighter single-handedly knocked out three soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the remaining two decided to surrender. The heroic feat of the fighter was told on the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

Mobilized Russian, Oleksandr Maltsev single-handedly managed to resist a detachment of militants from the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU). In the ensuing battle near Kremennaya, the soldier eliminated three soldiers and took two soldiers prisoner. Later, the serviceman died after covering the retreat of his assault group.

The Defense Department noted that despite constant mortar and artillery fire for three days, the platoon under the command of Sergeant Maltsev firmly held the strategically important line of defense.

  • While the guys were pulling him out, he turned the attention to himself in order to let the injured man go. Well, actually, I passed him,” a fighter with the call sign “Horse” recalled a colleague’s feat.

Alexander voluntarily went to the front. Comrades in arms remembered him as a selfless and endearing person. The sergeant was respected and his actions inspired those around him.

Alexander Maltsev died in action on March 13. Documents are being prepared for the presentation of a serviceman as a hero of Russia posthumously.
