Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev says Ukraine is part of Russia, but Moscow had to accept that the countries live “in different apartments” for geopolitical reasons . He said so in an interview published on his Telegram channel.
“Besides, Ukraine is generally part of Russia, to be honest it is part of Russia. But for geopolitical reasons and because of the history of what happened, we put up with the fact that we live in different apartments for a long time,” Medvedev said.
According to him, Russia has to reckon with the “fictitious borders” of the territories that were part of the Russian Empire with the Russian population.
Also, Medvedev pointed out that it is useless to negotiate with certain countries and political blocs, because they only understand the language of force.
During the interview, he also noted that the threat of the possibility of nuclear conflict in the world has not passed, but has become even greater.
