The Basmanny court in Moscow arrested in absentia the blogger Maxim Katz, recognized in Russia as a foreign agent. He is accused of having publicly disseminated false information about the use of the Russian armed forces. The corresponding entry appeared today in the court file.

It is noteworthy that the criminal case was opened in April last year.

“Choose a measure of restraint on the accused in the form of detention for a period of 2 months, calculating the period from the time of Katz ME*’s extradition, or from the time of his detention,” the resolution reads.

Recall that last October, the blogger was put on the federal list of wanted persons. Since early March, Katz* has been on the international wanted list.
