US President Joe Biden began his speech about the Nashville school shooting with a little ice cream joke, according to CBS News.
He began his speech by saying, “Hello, my name is Joe Biden, I’m the husband of Dr Jill Biden, and I had chocolate chip ice cream today. I came here because I “I heard there’s going to be chocolate chip ice cream. . By the way, I have a full fridge on the top floor. You think I’m kidding? I’m not,” he said. he says, causing laughter in the audience.
After the joke, Biden commented on the Nashville Parish School shooting. He noted that information on “what happened and why” is still being clarified. The president expressed his condolences to the families of those killed and injured in the incident, and also thanked the police officers for their lightning-fast response.
In his speech, Biden stressed the importance of fighting violence and called for the passage of a bill to limit the sale of weapons. He noted that this was not the first time he had approached Congress with such a request.
According to media reports, following a shooting at a Nashville school, three children and three teachers were killed. Police determined the shooter was 28-year-old transgender woman Audrey Hale.
