Only about half of America’s F-35 fighters are ready for combat missions, Air Force Lt. Gen. Michael Schmidt said. Bloomberg writes about this in reference to the general’s written testimony.
In February, the average monthly rate of mission-ready fighters in the US fleet of more than 540 F-35s was 53.1%.
Schmidt called this situation unacceptable and said he would increase readiness rates by at least 10% per year.
Earlier it became known that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was going to send the United States a list of weapons needed in Kiev, including F-16 fighters. Bloomberg: Only half of America’s F-35s are combat ready
