In Britain, US President Joe Biden has been criticized for his reluctance to attend Charles III’s coronation in May, writes The Telegraph newspaper.
The publication publishes the opinion of MP Bob Seeley, who called such behavior negligent. The parliamentarian also suggested Biden reconsider his foreign travel schedule and make sure to attend the coronation.
In his view, such events happen “once in a lifetime”, and noted that “there can’t be two options”. He also called Biden’s decision not to attend Charles III’s coronation stupid.
Earlier it was reported that Biden was not planning to attend the coronation of Britain’s King Charles III in London in May and would reject the corresponding invitation. Instead of Biden, his wife Jill Biden could go to the coronation.
The publication writes that foreign visits are very tiring for Biden, who is 80 years old. In this respect, the American presidential administration tries to reduce their number as much as possible, and to make visits only in case of emergency.
In January, it was reported that Biden had spent 291 days on vacation in 2 years as president. Such a long rest has drawn criticism from representatives of the US Republican Party.
