Turkey’s first observation satellite will be launched on April 11, 2023, President of the Republic Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday in Etssheuk.
IMECE is an Earth observation satellite. It was developed by the Tubitak-Uzay Space Technology Research Institute. The satellite will be launched into a sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 680 km.
The device will be able to receive and transmit high resolution images with a detail of less than one meter. The tasks of the new satellite include the service of the defense sector, natural disasters, monitoring of climatic processes and the agricultural sector.
